Spring Welcome Picnic

Every spring, a fresh wave of students arrives in Japan not knowing a single person in the country. Crossing exists for exactly that moment.

We booked a patch of grass under the cherry blossoms, brought more onigiri than anyone could reasonably eat, and spent the afternoon trading stories — first impressions of Japan, the food everyone missed from home, the trains everyone had already gotten lost on at least once.

By the end of the picnic, half the group had already made plans to meet again before our next gathering. That’s really the whole point.
